With awareness of environmental issues more prominent than ever, many people are now seeking ways to be more eco-friendly.

Although it has taken a while, the clothing and footwear industry has finally caught up, with many brands like Allbirds offering eco-friendly options to fashion enthusiasts.

For those in Los Angeles, finding eco-friendly shoes can be challenging. Fortunately, Allbirds have announced that they will be opening their first premises in Los Angeles in August 2019. This is great news for those that want to save the planet but also look stylish at the same time. With only six stores over the whole of the US, Los Angeles customers are somewhat privileged to be treated to a 2000 square foot store.

The Allbirds Shoes Story

As far as shoe companies go, Allbirds are probably one of the newest. The eco-friendly shoes hit the shelves in 2016 and have gained a great reputation ever since. Soccer fans may even be aware of the co-founder Tim Brown, ex-soccer star Brown founded the company with Joey Zwillinger targeting the eco-friendly market.

The company recently hit the headlines after former president Barack Obama was spotted in a pair of Allbirds at a basketball game.

Allbirds Facts

The stores feature chairs specifically designed for trying on shoes. Chairs are tilted in a way to make the experience more comfortable for the shopper, they are also said to be the ideal height for trying on footwear.

The stores also include walls of accessible shoes in different sizes, for customers to choose their ideal size without having to wait around for store attendants.

Customers in the Los Angeles store will likely be able to choose from unique designs specific to the area. In other areas, the stores have created new designs to suit the local community. For an area like Venice, it is likely that the shoes will include colorful laces to match the colors of Venice with its breathtaking murals and vibrant decor.

Allbirds stores feature displays showcasing the natural eco-friendly materials used in the production of their shoes. This gives customers more of an insight into the eco-friendly process.

Where Will The Los Angeles Store Be?

Shoppers can expect to find the new Allbirds at Abbot Kinney Blvd from August 2019. Visiting early is recommended to get hold of any special edition designs available at the opening of the store.
