The restaurant is situated at the Dublins Common Retail Centre and is the ninth to open in the Pikes Peak area and is known for it's trademark chicken sandwiches and all day menu that transitions from breakfast to lunch and then dinner. Such is the success of the brand that it is now one of the largest fast food chains ranking nearly as high as McDonald's and Wendy's.
The original company known as the Dwarf Grill (now Dwarf House) was founded in 1946, and the current restaurants still reflect the Baptist values of it's founder - S. Truett Cathy - who was devoutly religious, and even today the chain is closed on Sundays as well as Christmas and Thanksgiving.
The name of the restaurant is a slightly humorous take on the American English pronunciation of the word 'fillet' and the first Chick-fil-A came into being in 1967 in Atlanta after Truett Cathy had perfected his famous chicken sandwich. The new restaurant in Colorado Springs which is on the southeast side of Powers and Dublin was accompanied by what has become a traditional 'first 100' promotion. The prizes are eagerly sought after by contestants as they constitute a whole year's supply of Chick-fil-A food!
